Pulling up to the hotel, we were greeted by Graham, Silver’s chairman, who had flown out earlier that day to meet us in the evening. Graham wasn’t empty handed either, passing around a plate piled high with mini pastéis de nata, Portuguese custard tarts. A tasty start to the weekend!
We dropped off our bags and made our way over to Time Out Market in search of food. The choice on offer was phenomenal. We opted for a round of pizzas and a few drinks before hitting the hay in anticipation of the activities ahead.
We started the day with breakfast at the hotel before heading to Belem and setting sail for an unforgettable boat tour along the river Tagus. We soaked up breath-taking views of the Padrão Dos Descobrimentos, the 25 de Abril Bridge, the National Sanctuary of Christ the King, and the Comercio Plaza.
Sightseeing is hungry work, so we grabbed a bite to eat near the Padrão Dos Descobrimentos before jumping on electric scooters to glide along the waterfront and explore more of what the city had to offer.
The streets and architecture of Lisbon are like nothing else – you’re met with patterns, colour and vibrancy around every corner. Our creative designers couldn’t get enough!
The scooters weren’t the only things that needed recharging, so we stopped for an ice cream break in the sun before scooting back to the hotel to freshen up for dinner – and what a dinner it was.
Beco Cabaret Gourmet was out of this world. Hidden behind a bookshelf at the back of a restaurant, we were treated to an evening filled with fantastical food and dazzling entertainment. It’s well worth a trip to Lisbon just to visit Beco.
For our third and final day, we took to two wheels once again – but this time for a Lisbon hills electric bike tour. The highlight of the tour was Miradouro da Senhora do Monte, Lisbon’s highest lookout point, which provided astounding panoramic views of the city.
After a pit stop for coffee, pastéis de nata and local Pão de Deus, we trundled our way back down the winding streets and spent a few hours in the Portuguese sun before flying back home.
We were blown away by Lisbon. The city has a real creative energy that inspired the team and made us feel right at home. We’re certain that the experience will influence the work we produce in the future.
A big thank you from Silver to the trip’s organisers. We had an incredible time and feel like an even closer group as a result. Bring on next year!
